Yesterday I received My Black Rock Shooter limited game set and thought I'd do a review of the contents.
The set Includes the game, the WRS Figma, art book and CD. It did not come with the WRS charm apparently that is only supposed to come with the regular edition with the limited versions bonus item actually being a paper fan... I sadly did not get the fan...
Here is the book.
I really like the cover illustration but other then that it's kind of lame. Most of the books mass is to fit the CD inside it. The art book section is really thin and lacking in content. The CD includes a whole 13 minutes of in game music.
As for the game itself I like it. It is a RPG but uses a unique battle system that works in real time. You do not control BRS's moment in battle but were she aims her canon and are given the ability to block and doge attacks. It works sort of like an on rails shooter. Unlike the anime the story does revolve around BRS, however this is a game that you need to understand Japanese to fully enjoy.
The Figma is very nice the sculpt and paint are nice (as usual) and she looks better in person then I was expecting. However she dose have a problem with stuff failing off, Her hood is supposed to tab into place but always seems to come loose, her "wings" tend to pop off her back fairly easily if you don't pose them carefully (each section is on it's own ball joint) and the worst is the white part on the handle her of her it weapon falls off way to easily when posing her. (it comes off to help attach her hands to it) But despite these problems she is a nice figure and feels very "deluxe" compared to most other Figmas.
That's all I have to say about this set.
