Memorial Day Weekend Arrivals

Memorial Day Weekend Arrivals
29 мая 2011 03:34:05

When it comes to collecting figures, this week has been a busy period of me.

For starters, this week, my second pre-ordered figure of 2011 finally shipped, with me receiving it in the mail on Thursday. As you'd probably guessed by the pictures that I posted on Thursday, the figure is of Tsumugi from K-On! in waitress attire (that's Mugi for you, someone who's interested in seeing what the life of a commoner is like).

Just like the Dark Magician Girl figure I got a couple months back, the box that Mugi came is also worth a look.

As seen in the photo above, the pinkish color and the dots does seem to create the feel of a typical Japanese family restaurant.

Also noticeable in the photo is the fact that two of the trays that Mugi carries are not attached to the figure, meaning that the owner has to put the trays in her hands himself/herself. Luckily, Max Factory ensured that it won't be a huge problem as there's three tiny holes in the desert tray that can fit Mugi's fingers, while the other hand has a small curved piece that can fit the hole on the bottom of the omelet tray. The end result once all the trays are in place is this:

The other thing that's been keeping me busy when it comes to figure collecting is continuing my collection of Busou Shinki figures (as something to prepare me when the next big figure in that line becomes ready for pre-order). Basically, after missing out on one Busou Shinki figure that was on sale at Hobby Search (it was sold out by the time I found out about the sale), I decided to search other sites for these. In the end, I ended up getting two different figures from two different sites. However, since one of them won't be arriving until next week, I'll save that until later (as in when I receive it) and just cover the one that did arrive this week.

While looking for Busou Shinki figures on eBay, I rediscovered a seller from North Carolina that I did business with two years ago (as I bought one of Freeing Haruhi bunny girl statues from him). Checking his site, I saw that he had a number of discontinued Busou Shinki figures for sale. While there were a number of figures that were tempting (heck, I may end up ordering another figure from that dealer before Otakon depending on the selection and if one figure is still for sale), in the end, I decided to go with squirrel Busou Shinki girl, Pomock. On Friday, the figure arrived in the mail, and after opening up the box containing her, it was time to pose her for various photos.

Pomock in a regular pose (the only change to her default look outside of adding the squirrel tail and ponytail hairstyle is her feet, as it's not only more squirrel like, but also it enables Pomock to stand without needing any support.

Trying to go for an embarrassed or crying reaction in this shot.

Pomock is hungry for meat. Nom nom nom.

Pomock in the main pose that I use when I display her with my other Busou Shinki figures.

Now to wait for next week, when the other Busou Shinki figure that I ordered arrives from Japan.
