Well, folks, we've reached that point. We had a perfectly good sketch about hermits a successful and popular line of figures, but now things are beginning to get rather silly. The newest issue of Famitsu, which leaked today, unveiled something completely out there.
Good Smile Company is teaming up with Namco-Bandai to develop a new PSP RPG by the name of Nendoroid Generation. Yup. I kid you not, a Nendoroid RPG.
I see no stand here - what heresy is this!?
Not a lot has been revealed about the game, other than that it's due in the fall of 2011. If they want to keep it accurate to the source material, it'll probably be delayed until the winter. Anyway, the game appears to have several modes of play. The first would be a sort of Nintendogs clone, where you can interact with your big-headed chums.
There also appears to be conventional RPG exploration and combat, complete with Nendo-fied enemies.
Lastly, there's some sort of dance minigame - I have a hunch that it'll be similar to Hatsune Miku: Project Diva.
But one of the most interesting aspects of the game would be the crossover element.
Yup, you can befriend all manner of Nendoroids to make your own dream team of chibi crusaders. So far, characters from the Black*Rock Shooter, Fate, Nanoha, and Haruhi Suzumiya franchises have been confirmed. Since Kyoto Animation and TYPE:MOON are on board for the project, it wouldn't be implausible to expect to see K-On, Lucky Star, or Melty Blood Nendoroids making appearances as well. Likewise, the Vocaloids are fairly likely candidates, given the close partnership between GSC and Crypton. Anyway, I'll just dump a few more images from the game below.
I'll provide new information on the game as it surfaces. Anyway, feel free to sound off in the comments section below!
