Ogino Chihiro

Японское имя:

荻野千尋

Тихиро Огино — главная героиня фильма. В интервью создатель фильма Хаяо Миядзаки упоминает, что Тихиро — самая обычная десятилетняя девочка. Сэйю Хиираги Руми, озвучившая Тихиро для фильма, даёт несколько иную характеристику Тихиро: «Она своенравная и балованная, очень похожа на современных девочек». Когда родители Акио и Юго сообщают Тихиро, что им придётся переехать в новый дом, девочка сильно расстраивается и начинает капризничать. Она недовольна переездом и заранее считает свою будущую школу скучной и неинтересной. С развитием сюжета Тихиро проявляет свои лучшие черты характера — она ответственна, терпелива и бескорыстна.

На время работы в бане Юбаба даёт девочке имя Сэн взамен её собственного Тихиро. Слово «сэн» переводится как «тысяча». Также сэн — одно из возможных прочтений первого иероглифа 千 в имени Тихиро.
