He has red hair, parted on the left side. His hair completely covers his ears. He is also very thin, usually needing to wear multiple layers of clothing to appear normal in clothes. This, along with his unusually high voice, makes him seem somewhat feminine.

Sengoku is a chicken. The slightest thing will make him cower in fear, especially things like horror movies or scary stories. He's also very smart and serious, normally ranked #1 in the school (and #2 in phys ed). He enjoys reading and has an incredible level of concentration while doing so, the point of ignoring everything else going around him. He is generally not very expressive with his emotions. The sole exception is his anger or irritiation, which he shows all the time. He is also rather shy, and gets embarrassed easily. He is an awful cook, rivaled in how bad he is only by Ayasaki. When texting or chatting online, he uses lots of cute emoticons, making his texts look like they're from a girl. He also uses childish terms to refer to things, such as "Mr. Sun", "kitty cat" and "puppy wuppy".
