As I mentioned in my last blog post I wanted try righting more detailed reviews, hears my first attempt a writing one.
Aya Kagura comes from the hentai visual novel Se Kirara, witch was distributed for free by Max Factory. Aya is one of the main characters from the game. I don't particularly care for H-games but was drawn to her for her cute design and nice accessories.
Packaging 8/10
She comes in the standard Figma box witch is not to big or too small it has the standard personalized punch out distage insert. It keeps Aya and her accessories safe on their way to you but doesn't look too exciting.
Sculpting 9/10
The sculpting is clean and well done. All of the details of her uniform are accounted for and her personal details such as her bows and boots look great. As with most long haired figmas there is a chunk of hair that can be attached to cover up the hole for the stand. My only complaint about the sculpt is that the way the skirt was sculpted interferes with her leg articulation.
Paint 6/10
From a distance the paint looks quite clean. However looking closer revels that many of the details are actually a bit sloppy, particularly on the bottom of her skirt, shirt and her boots. Most noticeable is a random blob of black on her shirt. Her faces however are panted perfectly.
Articulation 7/10
Aya has the stranded amount of joints for a figma. But as I mentioned earlier her skirt restricts her legs so she can't pull off a wide legged stance. Surprisingly her neck can turn fairly well so she can look to the right or left, however she cant look up.
Accessories 10/10
This is where she really shines as their are quite a few goodies included. She comes with a nice group of cats each one has it's own unique sculpt and colorizing. Of course there's also the violin with case, she has hands specially designed to hold it but it also works with other figures with a little work. Then their are the two mugs, toothbrush and toothpaste so you can have her practice good oral hygiene. She also has five extra sets of hands, an extra embarrassed face which looks better in person than it does in the probational pics and of course the standard figma stand, hand rack and bag.
Price 7/10
At 3200 ¥ She is a bit more expensive than the average figma but adds a nice amount of interesting accessories to make up for it. However if you are buying her just for the accessories you will be less happy about the price.
Overall 8/10
Aya is a nice figma with nice accessories whose main flaw is her slightly sloppy paint. If you are only buying her for her accessories you may be less satisfied but if you actually care about the character then you will be very happy with her.
Did you enjoy the review? Any thoughts or suggestions would be welcome.
