Alright, folks. I hope your bodies are ready, 'cause that very special time that comes twice a year is nearing once more! Wonder Festival Winter 2011 begins on this Sunday, February 6th! While it's likely that leaks will begin tomorrow afternoon (as the first folks trickle in to the event from JAPAN TIME), I figured I'd take the time to post some things you can expect to see at the event!
Good Smile Company/Max Factory
Velorn already showcased Mikatan's recent preview of GSC's WF offerings, which can neatly be summarized as such.
Some of their other unveilings have also been leaked, including a Nendoroid of ATLUS mascot Jack Frost, and Figmas of Tentai Senshi Sunred's Sunred and General Vamp, and Strike Witches's Lynette Bishop and Sanya V. Litvyak. Speaking of Figmas, the big #100 is none other than Append Hatsune Miku.
Bandai
Bandai won't be announcing anything - they have their own event, Tamashii Festival. However, 3A Toys recently announced that they're doing a collaboration with Bandai, which we might see more about at the 3A booth (but they're chillin' with GSC, so that may not be a possibility).
Kaiyodo
So far, we'll probably be seeing prototypes of several recently-confirmed Yamaguchi Revoltechs, including GaoGaiGar, Jehuty, and a mystery mecha from MUV-LUV. The Evangelion Evolution series will probably have Units 00 and 03 spotlighted, and the Sci-Fi line will probably showcase Jack Sparrow, Spider-Man, and Mike and Sully of Monsters, Inc.
Garage Kits
Many Westerners forget the main purpose of WF - it's a day when fans can get together and distribute garage kits without fear of copyright issues! Everything from Touhou (LOTS of Touhou) to mecha to moeblobs get their time to shine - one GK circle even knoes who needs a Sigma. While I don't want to inflict too much CAN NEVER HAVE syndrome upon others (believe me, I'd do unspeakable things for that Nu or Sigma), I'll showcase a few of the many, many, many kits being sold there.
So, what are you personally hoping to see unveiled at Wonder Festival? I'd love some more Persona Figmas, and maybe a Sci-Fi Revoltech of the Brundlefly (The Fly, 1986). Anyway, sound off below!
