Синопсис:
«Легенда Мэйтель» оставляет странное, депрессивно-лирическое послевкусие. Как подобает настоящей легенде, она проводит своих героев через тяжелейшие испытания (не столько физические, сколько психологические) и отказывает им в праве на счастье в земной жизни. Её создатели блестяще справились с очень непростой задачей сотворения адекватной предыстории «Галактических экспрессов», и результат их трудов действительно проливает несколько дополнительных лучей света на вселенную Лэйдзи Мацумото, но он ценен и в отрыве от неё. Этот фильм вряд ли захочется посмотреть второй раз, но и жалеть о первом просмотре придётся едва ли. Он - мрачный и жестокий, но в то же время - глубокий, искренний и честный, наделённый всеми теми качествами, которых зачастую так не хватает современному аниме.
