Mary is a student of Oxford Academy who has been assigned to be executed for her role as Mary Stuart, who was historically responsible for assassination attempts against Queen Elizabeth, and Mary Tudor, whose death would trigger the Anglo-Spanish War.
She has been living in hiding under the identity of "Scarred" (傷有り, Kizu-ari), an enigmatic character from England. The nickname stems from the distinguishable mark located on "Scarred"'s face.
