Christmas loot!

Christmas loot!
26 дек 2011 19:16:50

I hope everyone had a great Christmas and got lots of presents and food! I hate showing offf but I got a new camera for christmas because my old camera refuses to upload pictures to my laptop or fuction properly as a camera (main reason for no recent blogs on my figures). I am so happy I can barely put it into words, I can't use it yet because I am waiting on the lens so I have to wait
.
The picture was taken from my mum's camera which she got annoyied at. My dad got it used from ebay with all the basic stuff like the battery charger etc. He also got a lens (cannot remember the size) but I want to know what kind of lenses are good for taking pictures of figures and small things and what other things to get for it. I now nothing about cameras so my dad got all the advice from this guy he knows who does nature photography and told him the best types to get.

When the lens arrives I will take some pictures of my art and my recent figures! I hope everyone has a nice holiday and a fun new year!!

Very nice present! Congradulations!
I got my Canon D1000 not so long ago and I was also wondering about a proper lens for the figures shots. I use my 18-55mm kit lens so far and it seems to deal with that kind of the shots very well.

Here is the firs testing figures shots that I took. Have a look..

Thanks, yeah I was thinking about the 18-55 because it isn't really expensive.

It's a standart kit lens so it's not so expensive if u want to purchase it separately..

Congrats on the new camera!

That is actually the very same camera I have! I use a 18-55mm lens for all my shots and you probably should get a lens filter to help protect your lens.

Thank you! What is the best setting for figure shots I was thinking of the close up but is there any better ones?

The macro setting (the flower) is probably best for close ups but I haven't had the best of luck using it in the past. I mainly use mine in manual mode.

Whoa, now that's quite a device.
Getting a proper lens for figures should be convenient, I have have to make do with the kit one when using my sis' camera.

Thanks, as soon as I get the lens I will take some much needed pictures of my queen's blade figures!
