HLJ End of 2010 Grab Bag

HLJ End of 2010 Grab Bag
26 дек 2010 04:10:25

'Twas the day before Christmas, and all through the house...

Okay, that as far as I'm going to go with that, as there's no way I'm going to do a rhyme sequence in his report.

Back to the post, earlier today (Christmas Eve), I was busy playing a game on Facebook, when I heard a knock on my front. Who would be at the door? Why, it was the mailman making some final deliveries before the holiday, and he happened to have a package for me. After finishing my game, I went to my room to open the package, and what should be in the box?

Why it's a "grab bag" that was being offered by Hobbylink Japan this past week. Basically, the site, for about $60 in American money, was offering a "grab bag" that contained items that contained numerous items that together total four times that amount. However, the catch is that the offer was only limited to 60 bags. Luckily, I was able to order one before they sold out, with it arriving in time for Christmas.

Anyways, here's a list of everything that's in the bag (or came with the bag, as I set up the bag for picture purposes):

1. A figure of Portgas D. Ace, "brother" of One Piece lead Monkey D. Luffy.

2. An action figure set based around a crossover between Kamen Rider Deno-O and Crayon Shin-Chan. Note to Den-O: stay away from Shin-chan's mother, as she's a fangirl of the Kamen Rider-like character in that show's universe (and no, I don't mean Action Bastard).

3. A Sci-Fi Revoltech of Jack Skellington in his Santa attire from the Nightmare Before Christmas.

4. So that Ace doesn't feel alone, a figure of Monkey D. Luffy from One Piece.

5. An action figure of the Unicorn Gundam from the most recent Gundam title.

6. Another Gundam item in the form of a small model of a MS-14A Gelgoog from the original Gundam universe.

7. A tie featuring Mio from K-On!.

8. A model kit of Machgaogamon from Digimon Savers.

9. A Figma figure of the JPWA version of Sakurahime.

With the items now revealed, it was time to unbox some of them and put them on my bookshelves. First, my original plan was to have Jack Skellington be one of the figures to be unboxed, with the blog post originally starting with him being the one who'd deliver the bag to my house. However, amidst the chaos of trying to set up the figure, the piece that's needed to connect Jack to the base broke. So that plan had to be scrapped.

Next up was Sakurahime. Thankfully, she wasn't as hard to set up as Jack, and I was able to adjust her to an action pose that would fit the idea of her being a female wrestler.

Finally, not wanting only one of figures unboxed (and given how some people I know online are fans of Digimon), I decided to put together the Machgaogamon model kit as my second attempt at anime model kits (the first was an SD Gundam kit that I won at Otakon, which ended up in failure due an error I made that resulted in some of the pieces that hold the model together to come off). Thankfully, there was no problems this time around, and Machgaogamon was completed within minutes.

Have a happy holiday season. Please post your anime-related gifts on the blog if you ended up receiving some as well.
