Stupid Stuff Sunday: Better Late than Never Edition (Also, NERV BUCKET)
29 ноя 2010 22:24:13

Sorry about the delay, but some IRL stuff kept me from writing up an article yesterday. Anyway, without further ado, I present the second Stupid Stuff Sunday, where we tour the wacky world of licensed character goods!

Nanoha The Movie1ST Alarm Clocks - Nanoha and Fate versions

I can't help but giggle at the logic that must have been going through Movic's heads when they devised these products.

"Don't you just hate that DRRRRRRRING that mechanical alarm clocks make?"
"Who doesn't?"
"Well, why don't we make alarm clocks which have talking lolis instead of bells?"
"Genius!"

And so, these clocks were born.

Available in both Nanoha and Fate flavors, these alarm clocks utilize voice clips from the recent Nanoha movie in favor of the usual ringing. While the clocks themselves are fairly innocuous, if goofy, the amusing part comes from the price - over 7,000Y on Amiami! It's like they're begging for these things to fail. Moving on...

Evangelion NERV Bucket

Not gonna lie, this is a pretty hardcore bucket. I mean, why have a generic bucket when you can have an officially-licensed NERV bucket!? This thing can hold TWENTY FREAKIN' LITRES! That's 20L of LCL, or whatever you want to hold! For only 3780Y, this glorious bucket can be yours - now you have something to sit on while you do the Gendo Pose!

Strike Witches Boxer-Briefs

"They're not panties, so it's not embarrassing!"

Given the underwear-centric nature of Strike Witches, I suppose this was fairly inevitable. But still, leave it to Japan to allow one to adorn their loins with the members of the 501st Wing. Available in Mio, Yoshika, and Sanya varieties and in a number of sizes, these loli-boxers are coming out in February.

Toaru Majutsu no Index - MISAKA Sisters Eyemask

And to finish off this week's article, here's something that's admittedly pretty cool. From the geniuses who brought you the Squid Hat, the visors worn by the MISAKA Sisters are now reproduced as a sleep-eyemask! The mask is reversible, flipping into a relatively generic design depicting some of the Sisters. But why would you want to do that, when you can run around pretending to be an electromancer sniper-loli?

*NOTE: The manufacturer assumes no responsibility for injuries sustained due to running around with an opaque eyemask.

Anyway, I hope this week's column provided some more insight into the world of character goods - where if it's popular, you can guarantee there'll be household objects decorated with its image!
