Received my Asuka figurine today.

Evangelion has never been to my list of favorite series, but I wished a figurine in memory of such an epic anime anyways. First I decided to go Rei only - she's pretty adorable character, isn't she? But choosing that Kotobukiya figurine I showed you earlier was a 'mistake'. They are selling Asuka and Misato (similar 1/6 scale) as well... and I immediately wanted to buy Asuka too! So, today she has joined Rei on my shelf :)



In fact it wasn't that easy. I mean attaching both figurines to their bases is a small disaster. There are no joints, you are supposed to simply place both girls on their half rock / half statue of EVA looking bases. There were even instructions included - printed in black and white and too small to make out anything.

With Rei it was just hard to understand how she's planned to be seated. When I finally got it, she turned out to be very steady. As to Asuka... No matter how hard I tried she looked like she's going to slip anytime. I surfed the Internet and found a great variety of her photos where she was positioned on the cursed base in a number of different ways. Some tried to place her arm on the head of EVA statue, some prefered to attach Asuka to statue's hump. It seems that the second 'party' is closer to the truth. And Asuka somehow managed to sit and give rest to her legs... until my half drunk younger sister arrived. Oh my God, I almost can imagine myself defeating the shelf and shouting "Don't touch it! Don't touch it!" when someone comes to my place.
