Received FINAL FANTASY XIII: Limited Collector’s Edition (PS3) as a present for Women's Day. How sweet!

Along with the game, this special edition includes some exclusive pieces of content:
1) FINAL FANTASY XIII Original Sound Selection: a soundtrack CD including a selection of tunes from the game, especially chosen for this Limited Collector’s Edition by composer Masashi Hamauzu. The CD is presented inside a slipcase featuring artwork from FINAL FANTASY XIII, with liner notes written by the composer himself.
Sounds good, but it's only 10 short tunes, in-game music all of them, no vocals. I wish there were some of those tender songs...
2) The World of FINAL FANTASY XIII: an exclusive hardback book featuring characters artwork, CG rendered images and environments from across the game production.
Small, pretty useless, but nice. And it does have hardback!
3) Exclusive Art Prints: 3 highly collectable art prints showing artwork of the Eidolons, powerful summoned allies of the lead playable characters of FINAL FANTASY XIII.
They have pictures on both sides. Tsumari, we've got all 6 playable characters.
4) Unique ‘Brand of the l’Cie’ decal: Collectible decal featuring this most iconic symbol from the game storyline.
I got 2 of them for some reason. Are they going to summon me twice? oO

I've been playing FFXIII for 4 or 5 hours now. I don't know how to explain, I don't feel it to be the most exciting game ever, but still gripping. Maybe I just miss FF series. Want me to share my impressions? Well, I couldn't get all of the battle and development mechanics yet, but it feels fine. The graphics is absolutely sweet. At the begginiing I was a kind of disappointed by plot (or heroes). Noone else probably has managed to try the game yet, so I won't tell you why. My favorite characters are the sisters: Lightning and Serah. Well, and I was pretty confused to know that Vanille is a small girl (I was sure she has to be a mature sexy lady, lol!). So, Vanille and Hope are kids, they behave like kids, and that is probably one of the thing that bothers me. No-no, I love kids. But what are they doing in the game which supposed to be the best entertainment for adults in year 2010? :(
But, don't feel upset. The plot really develops when they meet Serah. This moment is very inspiring and everything feels right (more or less) after it.

I'm hoping that Blinded By Light is on your selection CD? It'd be pretty stupid for them to not include the best basic battle theme in FF history. ^_^
The art prints look like the same pictures that were in my soundtrack booklet, except I didn't have the basic pictures for Snow and Lightning by themselves, although I think Lightning's picture was on the back of the soundtrack case itself. How big are the prints?
As for the game, I haven't played it yet since I'm packing. I ordered it online so it should be waiting for me at my new home (one week till I get there). I did watch the GT review and again the main downside was said to be the story, although they said the main problem wasn't really the story itself but that the cheesy dialog was distracting away from the plot. From the clips they'd shown, some of it was pretty bad. Some really weird accents. Vanille's English voice sounded especially irritating at times. I'm thinking about importing the Japanese version eventually to re-play it down the road.

The problem is the essence of the dialogs. Because, yeah, the plot is heartwarming, but the things they're talking about... Especially when the kids are involved. Sometimes it feels like the game was meant for kids, who should be learning the basics (like what is good? and what is bad?) while watching older and stronger characters instructing their smaller friends.
When you get a chance to play, I'll be curious to know your impressions! :)
P.S.: yap, "Blinded by Light" is on the CD - probably the only sound I can remember from it. It's cute! The prints are the size of the game package.

I've talked to two friends of mine who have started playing the game. One just completely can't stand Vanille's voice. He's really sad that there is no Japanese voice option, and this is coming from a guy who likes a good amount of English dubbed anime. My other friend said that her voice doesn't really bother him. But he plays a lot of JRPG's that have really bad English voice acting and his favorite anime is the Tenchi Muyo series which has one of the worst English dubs ever. So yeah....
As for your voice, I said it before when I watched your fandub work, I think you have a beautiful voice. Not annoying at all. Of course I've never heard you speak in English so I may not be able to pass proper judgment yet. ^_^
And yes, I'll definitely let you know what I think of the game when I finally get a chance to play. :)
Oh, and speaking of JRPG's on PS3, one that I'm really looking forward to is Resonance of Fate. The game just looks extremely cool, and there's going to be a Japanese voice option! XD

P.S.: most Russians speak English terribly, because we have a singing accent, which doesn't fit your language :(

Russians speaking English may sound terrible in a technical sense, but a lot of Americans just love the sound of the Russian accent. Especially when spoken by pretty girls. :)

Btw, I've played up to the part where the last character is introduced. Vannile is slowly finding a way to my heart. I like the way she moves swinging her arms :)

I think you sounded very cute. Don't even try to understand the appeal of the accent. It's exotic and therefore attractive. I think. I really don't have anything else to try to explain why other people like it. I just think it sounds cute and I can't really explain why.
I feel like I'm being left behind in FFXIII. I'm totally going to binge on that game this weekend. =D
