I'm not sure about other people but figure collecting in my eyes is just another hobby phase that I'm experiencing and I've had a bad habit of spending too much of my money on hobbies. This is really because I'm still considered a 'kid' and I don't actually have a real job yet.
Just two small jobs I guess:
1) As an assistant instructor for Taekwondo = 11 dollars an hour plus 4 dollars a head for each kiddy that goes to a grading. Yes I am a black belt yer yer
2) As a paper run boy = 50 dollars for my block.

There are other figure collecting hobbies I've had over the years including 'Warhammer'. I mean they are a little more hands on than anime figures and statues and I found myself indulging much more than I was probably allowed to. This included the rule books, monthly magazines, tools and paints even before you think about the actual figures themselves. To me just the feeling of PURCHASING the dam thing was enjoyable. I was far too addicted. To this day I still have a whole box set of some marine army that remain unpainted.

Then I had the online gamer phase where I was hooked on playing this cute little game called ragnarok online. Now I'm pretty sure this was the origin of my love for anime as the character sprites in this game were as close to anime as you could get. With monthly subscriptions, I was struggling to find the money to play this game with what little income I was producing
I also still enjoy the occasional modern warfare 2 from time to time. There are a number of other things such as pokemon, digimon, yu-gi-oh, manga, sports, computers, junk food (ha) which have all played a part in draining my money but I think talking about two will be enough. As for now I have only just recently gotten into anime greatly which is funny since I swore never to like it seeing as though it was ultimately just 'cartoons'. But here I am
The wise Konata once said that the person you introduce something to seems to end up liking it more or even being more obsessed than you did. I say this has been very true for me in terms of anime. The first anime related thing I owned was a cute figure of Achakura from Haruhi-chan was given to me by a friend and after that The Fraulein Yoko movie version was the first and only pose-able figure I purchased so far. The sad thing is the stand for yoko has decided to grow old and fail me as shown by these ugly pictures.
Seeing as though my hobbies come and go, I decided that this time I would try not to go off spending my money and just see if I really do decide to get into this whole figure collection phase... Excluding the 3 completed gashapon sets I already purchased.

So I randomly conclude with a quick unprofessional photoshoot of the Yoko figure that remains a symbol of my love for all things anime and of course for sexy girls with large guns!

very large and detailed blog )
as a black belt you'll be able to explain all that anime is not just cartoons and figurines are not toys for children
If I understand correctly that you have some Warhammer's figure? I have read several books and also wanted to find them, but they are mostly not painted...((
ps: Yoko

I originally thought that anime was cartoons and figures were just toys but after a while I was able to enjoy them.
Yes I have warhammer figures but I never finished painting them

I did have a bit of a warhammer 40k phase in middle school, darn proud of my space wolves army, with Ragnar Blackmane as my HQ. I did want to have a Tau army, but never got to finish it sadly
I also played RO for a atrocious amounts of time, and I really do like the anime-ish sprites, heck there just needs to be older sprite related mmorpgs.
I mostly played the stalker class on legendro server.
Your job as a assistant instructor of Taekwondo seems infinitely more rewarding than my job, also your pictures are just fine man.

That was my goal. I had all the required pieces bought and prepared but alas it was forgotten.
In RO I pretty much played as a lord knight religiously which ever server I moved on to. Ahh the memories

I've paled many online games (including ragnarok) my favorites are phantasy star online and city of heroes. The main problem I have is I'm too afraid to talk to people (even online)
